Photos: Men arrested for repackaging expired Digestive biscuits in Lagos

The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special
Offences Unit (Taskforce) today paraded two suspects
identified as Rabiu Olalekan and Hakeem Tiamiyu for
repackaging expired digestive biscuits.
According to PM News, the Chairman of LSESSOU,
Olayinka Egbeyemi who paraded the suspects, said they
were arrested for re-packaging and selling expired
digestive biscuits to members of the public around
Mosafejo market in Oshodi, Lagos.
Egbeyemi said one of his Police Officers arrested a lady,
Bimbo Oyewole at Oshodi under bridge while she was
cleaning off the expired date boldly written on a pack of a
digestive biscuit. After her arrested, the lady took the
taskforce officials to where she bought the expired
digestive biscuit at N1,900 per pack from the suspects.
One of them Olalekan, confessed to have been selling
repackaged expired digestive biscuits to the public at a
cheaper rate. Both men claimed that poverty pushed them
to the business. They will soon be charged to court.
