iPhone 6 And 6 Plus Sales Banned In China – A court in Beijing, China, has banned sales of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus inChina over its similarity to an existing Chinese device.
The phones had been deemed similar to Shenzhen Baili’s 100C phone, with the intellectual property court ruling against Apple.
In a statement, Apple revealed that all brands are on sale in what is the company’s second-biggest market, as they have appealed the decision at a higher court. The statement reads: “iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus as well as iPhone 6s, iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone SE models are all available for sale today in China. We appealed an administrative order from a regional patent tribunal in Beijing last month and as a result the order has been stayed pending review by the Beijing IP Court.”
According to the Wall Street Journal, mostphone stores in Beijing have already stopped selling the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, favoring the newer models iPhone 6s and 6s plus. This marks yet another struggle for Apple in China, after the company’s movie and books service was shut down recently for not having appropriate licenses. The company’s struggles in China have already begun worrying investors, with share price already down on Friday.
