Out now, stream Tyga’s new album “Kyoto” featuring Tory Lanez, Gucci Mane, & 24Hrs.
Back in September, Tyga hinted at the idea of him working on a singing album, saying “y’all think Im playing that singing album coming soon,” he tweeted out. In the weeks to follow, we got a taste of what he was talking about when he released the R&B-driven record “Boss Up,” before sharing the song “Temperature” in January. Then shortly after that, Tyga announced that he was readying a new album called Kyoto, which he says he’s “been wanting to make for a while now but didn’t have the confidence an the story to express my true emotions,” Tyga tweeted. But now, after weeks of promotion & even backlash for its questionable artwork, Tyga’s Kyoto album has arrived.
Containing 14 tracks in total, the follow up to Bugatti Raw features guest appearances from Gucci Mane, Tory Lanez and 24Hrs. Meanwhile production comes from the likes of Hitmaka, LTTB, Cashmoney AP, Jess Jackson, and more.
Named after a city two hours from Tokyo, KYOTO finds the former Cash Money rapper stepping out his comfort zone & doing more of crooning, melody-based records. “Its different man. I wouldn’t say singing. It’s melodies,” he said on Everyday Struggle the other day. “I wasn’t comfortable making these kind of records a year ago.” “This is more of a project for people to discover.”
Available now on iTunes, fans can stream Tyga’s new experimental project in its entirety via Apple Music/Spotify. Take a listen and let us know what you think. You feeling Tyga’s melodic approach or do you want the bars?
