Couple of Hours ago, Nigeria finally joined the Rio Olympics medal table, with self-sponsored Chierika ‘Coco’ Ukogu clinching the women’s single silver medal in rowing.
Chierika, who was born on October 2, 1992 in the United States,
is a professional rower.
After initial postponement of the semi-finals due to bad weather,
Ukogu participated in in the first 1000m in the Semifinal C/D1
Single Sculls Rowing event on Friday. She initially finished third with a 4:04.26.
With a total time of 8:18:55, she finished fourth which qualified
her for the finals.
She competed in Final D of women’s Single Sculls Rowing event on Saturday in lane 4.
Chierika finished second in a time of 7:44:76
