The Game Given Opportunity To Bid For Retrial In Sexual Assault Case

The rapper was ordered to pay $7.1 million to Priscilla Rainey last year.

Last November, The Game lost a lawsuit to Priscilla Rainey , a
contestant on his reality show who he allegedly sexually assaulted. The jury ordered Game to pay Rainey $7.1 million for “physical, psychological, and emotional damages,” stemming from a night in which he is accused of aggressively groping Rainey without her consent, including “forcefully reach[ing] his hand inside her dress to rub her bare vag!na and buttocks.”

Game has since been unsuccessfully fighting for a retrial, being denied a bid for a new trial in December due to a technicality in the paperwork. Today, Bossip reports that the rapper has successfully won a bid from llinois Federal Court Judge Gary Feinerman, which means he’ll be given the opportunity seek a retrial and file motions to reduce the damages he’s been ordered to pay, but is still not guaranteed anything. According to the documents he filed, The Game feels the trial was unfair, citing the $7.1 million as “monstrously excessive,” and the fact that he could not appear in court due to emergency surgery.

The Game’s recently announced his album, Westside Story , which he says may be his last .
