So it’s safe to say this beef between Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma isn’t going anywhere any time soon. During 2017 Summer Jam concert yesterday (June 11), Remy injected the famed summer gathering with some magic of Summer Jam’s past when she had images of the Young Money MC projected onto the screen behind her as she performed her vicious Nicki diss, “Shether.”
Remy had some of the biggest female names in hip hop join her on stage, including MC Lyte, Lady Of Rage, Queen Latifah, Lil Kim, Cardi B, Monie Love, and Young M.A. The exclusion of Nicki was enough of a pointed jab, but then Remy Ma performed “Shether,” leaving no doubt that the beef has entered its next chapter.
The whole performance is reminiscent of Drake’s hilarious takedown of Meek Mill at OVO Fest back in 2015. It was there Drake landed his heaviest blow against Meek, and began Meek’s death by a million memes with a performance of “Back to Back,” while a never-ending slideshow of memes popped up on the screen behind him.
