While behind bars, it looks like Kodak Black is set on becoming a better man. In June, the Pompano Beach-bred rapper revealed that he had passed the GED Ready test, the practice exam crafted to prepared for the GED, or General Equivalency Diploma test for those who bypass the traditional route of high school graduation.

This weekend, in a new post, the rapper revealed that he has officially earned the diploma for which he was prepping, writing in a caption, “I just received my high school diploma today and although it is a big accomplishment for me I am yearning for more. I appreciate my teachers Mr. Williams and Mr. Ward for those times when I would get frustrated you worked diligently to make sure I had the right materials and was ready for this big day. Those Saturday classes and putting in over time studying paid of [sic]. “Momma I know I’m late but I got it. #ThatsHowYouStep #CapAndGownPicsComingSoon.”

It’s a good step in the right direction for the south Florida emcee, born Dieuson Octave, who is currently incarcerated for violating his probation after being caught on charges of driving with a suspended license and associating with individuals committing crimes. Originally, Kodak was facing up to 12 years in prison after being arrested in January on multiple charges that also included grand theft of a firearm, drug possession, gun possession, and child neglect. Such charges were eventually dropped, and according to the Sun Sentinel, Kodak will be home as early as September after striking a plea deal.
