Tupac’s mom passed away last night at the age of 69.A week away from Mother’s Day, we’ve received someunfortunate news about the death of the mother of oneof hip-hop’s biggest stars. Afeni Shakur, mother to the legendary Tupac Shakur, passed away last night at 69years old.
NY Daily Newsreports that Marin County deputies arrived at Shakur’s home in Sausalito, California after she suffered a possible cardiac arrest– she was takento the hospital and passed away just before 10:30 PM.The exact reason for her death is currently unknown, but the Marin County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office will be leading an investigation.
Tupac famously dedicated a song to his mom, “Dear Mama,” in which she will remain immortalized. Shakurmanaged the late rapper’s estate since his death in 1996, which reportedly earns $900,000 a year.
