First Week Sales Projections For SZA’s “CTRL” Album

Last Friday, SZA finally released her highly anticipated LP Ctrl which you can stream here. It’s been talked about a lot on social media and reviews are generally positive. But what would the project sale in its first week out?

According to a report from HITS Daily Double, the Top Dawg Entertainment singer’s second project for the label can possibly sell between 17,000 to 20,000 units from retail sources. SZA’s previous release for TDE was the Z EP, which debuted at #39 on the Billboard 200 charts when it dropped in 2014.

The biggest seller of the week is expected to be Katy Perry’s fifth
studio album Witness , which is projected to move between 200,000 and 225,000 units, with 175,000 to 200,000 of that figure coming through traditionally. The projections fall short of Perry’s 2013 release Prism, which hit 286,000 units first week in 2013.
