A young man, Tajudeen Raji, suspected to be a cult member must have thought he had successfully covered his trail when he escaped to London with his family but nemesis actually caught up with him few days after he sneaked into the country as rival cultists allegedly lured him to a party at the Bariga area of Lagos State where he was murdered with his stomach cut open, before his body was dumped at the Yaba area.
It was gathered from those who knew Raji that he was a leading member of the Eiye Confraternity that used to terrorise the town between 2010 and 2013 and after an attack on a rival gang where a number of people were killed, he escaped to the United Kingdom and while the family members were still overseas, he sneaked back to the country and was killed by rival cult group who invited him to a party at Fola Agoro, Bariga.
The group was alleged to have ripped open his stomach and brought out his intestines. while his body was dumped at Yaba College of Technology Road, WAEC Junction.
The deceased who was popularly called Orji Oba Pharaoh, according to residents, owned a house on Afuwepe Street off Hospital Road in Ogijo, Ogun State and had allegedly used the building as hideout after terrorising the residents.
According to a resident of the area, he was declared wanted sometime ago by the Ogijo Police Station after he terrorised residents, but escaped justice.
“We were at home when we heard about his death in Lagos, and plans by his family to bury him at his residence in the town. Immediately we heard that, we sent some delegates to the monarch who later barred the family from bringing his body to the town for burial,” the resident said.
